Balloon Sinuplasty
Balloon sinuplasty is a special type of endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS) in which a small balloon is inserted into the individual sinus openings, dilated to make them larger and then removed. Balloon sinuplasty can be performed in the operating room or under local anesthesia at one of our Houston sinus clinics as a treatment option for sinusitis. The steps are as follows.

Step 1
Step 2
Step 3
In many cases, no tissue or bone is removed during surgery using this technology, so there is reduced bleeding. As a result, the need for uncomfortable nasal packing is eliminated.
This does not limit your treatment options. The balloon sinuplasty technology is an endoscopic tool and may be used with other medical therapies or surgical techniques. It does not limit future treatment options if you have a progressive disease.
